Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be religious to come?
No. Our church community loves to help people explore Jesus and the fullness of life that he offers. The curious, the skeptics, the spiritual-but-not-religious, the faithful, and the backslidden - we are here for you. Learn more about exploring Jesus with us.
What type of church are you?
We are a Jesus-worshipping, Bible-loving, Spirit-filled church community that emphasizes both the Sunday Gathering (centralized) and Missional Communities (decentralized) who connect and serve throughout our cities. We are focused on equipping reproducing disciples because we believe Jesus is calling you and has purpose for your life. It's not simply about going to church but being the church. We are connected with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada and Soma Family of churches. Learn more about us.
How can I join a group?
As we listed above, the first step is to come to a WELCOME LUNCH. These occur every few months, and as you connect with us, we will welcome you to join in on the next available date. Then you can join the next Step One Explore Learning Cohort, which will help you explore what it looks like to follow Jesus and do so with us. One can also test-drive a serving team. This is where you start, and as you get connected and walk through the learning cohorts, you will get to know us, and we will get to know you. This will help us discern how we can coach and guide you and what Missional Community (MC) could be a good fit for you.
What is a Missional Community, and can I go to one?
The first Sunday of each month, we meet in homes throughout the city as Missional Communities (MCs). We call this Missional Community Sunday. We do not meet at The Centre. MCs gather in homes to build community, disciple one another, and love and serve those who do not yet know Jesus, together. These groups are learning how to make Jesus known in everyday life, together and meet throughout the week. Each group has a different focus, whether an area, or a people group, that they have been called to serve. We invite newcomers to join in with these MC Sundays and other open events that the MC is leading, so you can come to understand how we want to serve and live out our mission to be disciples who make disciples. What is the Church Centre app?
This app is our digital home and is powered by Planning Center. It includes our calendar, options to register for events and giving. If one is a part of a serving team, MC, or d-group then those groups will have their info, calendars, and even group messaging all within this app. Once connected, it becomes the one place with all the info.
